In August of 2011 I turned 30. And I bought a house; not just any house, but a house that Redfin and real estate agents called a "fixer". And every time I am there working on it I think I made exactly the right decision, even if that means I won't move out of my parents house for another year (probably - I'm anticipating moving in late spring/early to mid summer of 2012).

Since I know you all really just want to see pictures, I will dive right in. These were taken by my mother during the inspection. This photo was taken from the end of the driveway:

The lot runs street to street - and this is the view from the other street:

Ha. All right. This is a picture of the other side of the house:

Yes, I mentioned it's a fixer, right?

And the inside... this photo was taken from the side door through what will be the laundry/mudroom, through the kitchen, all the way into the living/dining room (complete as in its past life with sexy wood paneling, popcorn ceiling, and "vintage" light fixture):

This next one is taken back the other direction from the living room towards the side door:

That brown carpet with matching accent wall and cupboard stripes are so... unappealing. I love this house for its layout and location, not for the former decor. You'll see what happened to the guts soon enough.

The last two photos taken that morning are of the bedrooms - yes, plural. Whatever will I do with so much space? 720 square feet seems quite large after living in a 235 square foot studio in Brooklyn for a bit.

I can't believe there isn't a photo of the bathroom from that day... I'm sure I have one from shortly after everything was finalized that I can show you later.
